From Granholm to Palin: No Apologies
Posted on | March 24, 2009 |
Did Michigan Governor Jennifer Granholm ruffle some feathers by calling out fellow female governor, Sarah Palin? Last weekend at a function, Granholm accused Palin of having “really set back the cause of hot governors.”
Well, some reporter with an axe to grind or story to invent thinks that it’s newsworthy and has questioned whether Granholm should apologize to Palin.
Apparently the reporter thought it was germaine to the story about Granholm’s trip to Washington in search of auto aid.
I know that auto aid and political jokes are often intertwined, but does anyone else find this a bit of a non-sequitur in a totally unrelated story? And it’s been picked up by CNN no less.
Two things:
1. This seems like another attempt to pit woman against woman. The motive is unclear, but the divisive techniques are undeniable. Either this reporter has a fetish for catfights, or simply cannot hold together a story long enough to complete a thought.
2. Granholm was right. Just because it’s funny, doesn’t mean it wasn’t true.
